Hi! Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear you’re going through this. Yeah, refrain from sending a letter. 4 years is quite a long time to be in a relationship with someone. I know the breakup still hurts and this may help you process or deal with the breakup accordingly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zp7SFbeCRU&t=3s but if you find you need more guidance on how to lead a more fruitful life without your ex, get my Beat the Breakup Guide. I finally had enough in July and went no contact. Sure enough about 2 weeks ago he started texting a couple of days a week, then suddenly was calling after 6-7 weeks apart. Two days ago he called me while I was writing him a “Dear John” letter to tell him that I need verbal and physical affection, I need someone who wants to hold my hand, kiss me, give me a big warm hug every chance he gets, and sleep next to me without a body pillow between us. Your words are what I needed to hear to move forward and go no contact again because he is not going to change. BUT I AM DONE! Next time I find an avoidant person in my life I will run the other way!
